Choosing WOFE company name
The first step to registering a WFOE in China is deciding a name for the legal entity. It is important to note that the official company name of a WFOE in China should be in Chinese characters, and ARTxDIGI can assist you in choosing a unique and meaningful name that will establish a strong brand and avoid any potential legal issues.
When choosing a company name, it's important to keep in mind that there are several regulations regarding the use of certain words or phrases. For example, certain words related to the government or politics may not be allowed in the company name. Additionally, the chosen name must be checked for availability with the local AIC (Administration of Industry and Commerce) to ensure that it has not already been registered by another company.
Renting/Leasing Office space for your company
Choosing the right location for your Wholly Foreign-Owned Enterprise (WOFE) in China is a critical decision that can impact the success and profitability of your business. ARTxDIGI can assist in finding a suitable location for your business, with various cooperative development areas available to choose from.
These cooperative development areas are strategically located in key cities throughout China, such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Qingdao, Jinan, and Chongqing, among others. By selecting a location within one of these areas, your business can benefit from reduced operating costs, increased market access, and improved compliance with local laws and regulations.
Cooperative development areas:
Beijing Daxing International Airport Economic Zone
Shanghai International Automobile City
Qingdao High-tech Industrial Development Zone
The Jinan High-tech Industrial Development Zone
Fast and efficient application process
ARTxDIGI can streamline the WFOE application process for you, making it fast and efficient. We will collect and submit all necessary documents, including the business scope, company name registration, and capital contribution, to the local AIC on your behalf, ensuring that your application is processed quickly and accurately.
Once your application is approved, you will receive your business license, which is a key official document of the WFOE. With your business license in hand, you can move forward with the next steps in the company formation process.
Posing company formation
After obtaining your business license, ARTxDIGI's platform will assist you in applying for additional documents and permits required for company formation. These may include:
- Application of statutory stationeries (company chop): This refers to the official company seal, which is required for most business transactions in China.
- Company bank account: You will need to set up both a RMB basic account and a capital account for your business, and ARTxDIGI can assist you in doing so.
- Registration with the tax authorities: You will need to register your business with the local tax authorities to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
- Registration with the Customs office, if a trading company: If your business involves importing or exporting goods, you will need to register with the Customs office to obtain an import/export license.
- Application for Alien Employment Permit: If you plan to hire foreign employees, you will need to apply for an Alien Employment Permit on their behalf.
- Application for Foreign Work Visa: Foreign employees will also require a work visa to legally work in China. ARTxDIGI can assist in obtaining the necessary visa documents for your employees.
Payment of registered capital
The amount of registered capital required for your WOFE will depend on several factors, such as the industry in which you operate and the location of your business. ARTxDIGI can provide guidance and advice on choosing an appropriate amount for your registered capital based on the investment environment in China.
It is important to note that the registered capital can be used to fund the operations of the company, but it does not necessarily need to be paid in full upfront.
