
Chongqing Jiulongpo District
a) Basic Information
Jiulongpo District is located in the central urban area of the Chongqing metropolitan area, covering an area of 432 square kilometers. The district has jurisdiction over 9 streets and 10 towns, with a permanent population of 1.53 million people. Six towns and nearly 200 square kilometers are included in the Chongqing High-tech Zone. In the first three quarters of 2021, the regional GDP increased by 10.6%, ranking second in terms of both total amount and growth rate in the central urban area. The added value of large-scale industries increased by 20.7%, fixed asset investment increased by 18.8%, and social retail sales increased by 26.1%. The per capita disposable income of residents increased by 10.8%.
The district is known with as the "Eastern Cultural City" and the "Western Science City."

Jiulongpo District has planned six leading industries: modern service industry, new materials, automobile and motorcycle industry, digital economy, high-end equipment, and new energy.
c) Enterprise Situation
There is one national-level high-tech zone and two municipal-level characteristic industrial parks in the district, with a number of leading companies such as Chinalco Advanced Manufacturing, Gree Electric Appliances, Qingling Motors, and Longxin Group. The district has also gathered a group of high-tech industrial projects, such as Bosch hydrogen fuel cell engines, Quantum technology, and Runze big data. The region has formed industrial clusters in automobile and motorcycle industry, intelligent industry, new materials, high-end equipment, and modern service industry, with over 220,000 market players ranking first in the city. Innovation drives industrial development, and industry strengthens innovation.
The district has 432 high-tech enterprises, 2,798 technology-based enterprises, and a research and development investment ratio of 3.1%, all ranking among the top in the city. It has innovation element aggregation platforms such as the Chongqing Science and Technology Service Market and the Chongqing Science and Technology Element Trading Center. It attracts universities and research institutes such as Tsinghua University, Peking University, the University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Military Sciences, and the China Ordnance Science and Technology Research Institute. There are 331 innovation platforms above the municipal level in the district, with active innovation subjects, rich innovation elements, and a strong innovation atmosphere.
