Guangzhou Development Zone
a) Basic Information
Guangzhou Development Zone refers to the collective name of Guangzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone, Guangzhou High-tech Industrial Development Zone, Guangzhou Bonded Zone, Guangzhou Export Processing Zone, and China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City, which are four national-level economic functional zones and a China-Singapore cooperation project.
b) Main Industries
The modern industrial system constructed by Guangzhou High-tech Zone is dominated by new generation information technology, automobile manufacturing, new materials, green energy, biotechnology, high-end equipment, and health food industry chains. It has created three major hundred-billion-yuan-level industrial clusters in automobiles, electronics, and energy, as well as four major fifty-billion-yuan-level industrial clusters in biomedicine, high-end chemicals, food and beverages, and electrical machinery. It integrates and focuses on the fields of digital twin, induced luminescence, high-end scientific instruments, cutting-edge life sciences, and frontier new materials, as well as modern service industries such as production and life services.
c) Enterprise Situation
There are over 40,000 technology enterprises and over 2,200 high-tech enterprises in the entire region, with seven hundred-billion-yuan-level high-tech enterprises. There are 541 high-growth gazelle enterprises recognized, a year-on-year increase of 30%. The newly recognized high-growth enterprises by the Ministry of Science and Technology have been among the top four in the country for five consecutive years. There are more than 20 selected district-level enterprises, with five enterprises including Wenyuan Zhixing, Audi Energy, Guxin Semiconductor, Ruqi Chuxing, and Huizhi Microelectronics, selected for the "Hurun Global Unicorn List 2022," accounting for 26% of the total number of enterprises in Guangzhou on the list.
