Starting from January 11, the National Immigration Administration officially implements five measures to facilitate the entry of foreign nationals into China, removing obstacles for foreign individuals engaging in business, studying, and traveling, aiming to better serve and support high-level opening-up and promote high-quality development.
- Relaxation of visa application conditions for foreign nationals entering China.
Foreign nationals urgently coming to China for non-diplomatic and non-official activities such as business cooperation, visiting, investment, entrepreneurship, family visits, and handling personal affairs, who are unable to obtain a visa overseas in time, can apply for a port visa at the entry port with relevant proof documents such as invitation letters.
2. Foreign nationals can transit directly for 24 hours at hub airports such as Beijing Capital International Airport without going through inspection procedures.
Foreign nationals arriving at 9 international airports, including Beijing Capital, Beijing Daxing, Shanghai Pudong, Hangzhou Xiaoshan, Xiamen Gaoqi, Guangzhou Baiyun, Shenzhen Bao'an, Chengdu Tianfu, and Xi'an Xianyang, can enjoy 24-hour direct transit without going through border inspection procedures. Passengers with international connecting flights within 24 hours from any of these airports to a third country or region are exempt from border inspection procedures and can transit directly without a visa.
3. Foreign nationals in China can conveniently apply for visa extension, renewal, and reissuance locally.
Foreign nationals engaged in short-term non-diplomatic and non-official activities such as business cooperation, visiting, investment, entrepreneurship, family visits, sightseeing, and handling personal affairs who have valid reasons to continue staying in China can apply for visa extension, renewal, and reissuance at the local public security exit-entry administration.
4. Foreign nationals in China requiring multiple entries and exits can apply for a re-entry visa.
Foreign nationals in China who, for valid reasons, need to make multiple entries and exits can apply for a multiple-entry visa by submitting relevant proof documents, such as invitation letters, to the public security exit-entry administration.
5. Simplification of application materials for visa documents for foreign nationals in China.
When applying for visa documents, foreign nationals with easily verifiable information, such as accommodation registration records and business licenses, can be exempted from providing relevant paper proof materials. For foreign nationals applying for short-term family reunion visas, a declaration of family relationship by the inviting party can be used as a substitute for proof of family relationship.
As China's economy continues to recover and open up, there is a growing demand for enhanced immigration management services from both domestic and foreign enterprises and individuals. The National Immigration Administration will proactively collaborate with relevant authorities, focus on addressing key issues in immigration services for foreigners coming to China for business, study, and tourism, continue to deepen reforms and innovations in immigration management services and policies, accelerate institutional opening-up, actively contribute to creating a first-class business environment, and proactively serve the establishment of a new development pattern.
